The campgrounds are clean and well maintained. Pit toilets and old fashioned water pump are the only amenities.
It's like a little natural Oasis surrounded by farm lands. A beautiful location to sit and enjoy the sounds of Eau Claire River flowing by. Great place for family gatherings or to just go camping with a buddy. Good fishing too
Somehow, though, the county park system seems to clean up after the mess and it is tidy for the next weekend of party campers. I was there in mid summer. Maybe the place quiets down in autumn?? All I know for sure is that it was not my idea of nature camping in mid summer.

The atmosphere of the campground is more like a rock festival concert than a campground.
A great little park!
The natural river is nice with sand bars and deep pools to fish in. A cold spring fed creek runs into a deep pool in the river and only a few yards away are rapids, so it is a nice place to swim and fish. The Amish sometimes ride their buggies to the park and recreate there which opens the opportunity for rare and charming interactions with the Amish folks.
HOWEVER, the campground has a local clientele that uses the campgrounds as a party base. This is not a good place to camp if your idea of camping is nature and peace and quiet. Every campsite will have music blaring and the you will be surrounded by drunks. Car headlights, loud percussion fireworks, screaming, loud music, billowing cigarette smoke from all sides, - all goes on until the early morning hours. Drunks rip up the gravel road doing cheerios like Dukes of Hazard.
